Hip Hop Class by Message In MotionDominion Trail ElementaryNewOur most popular class!! Students will learn hip hop dance technique including break dancing, popping and locking and freezes, as well as iconic hip hop movements including the moon walk, the cabbage patch, the kid in play, the snake, and more! Students collaborate and learn funky routines to some of the best beats around, and let their inner star shine through break dance battles and more. Additional emphasis on style, contemporary choreography, movement vocabulary, strengthening and conditioning, rhythm, personal expression, and having fun! Class culminates with a special performance for parents on the last day of the session where students will showcase 1-2 learned routines as well as other material learned throughout the session, and be presented with a certificate. Hip Hop Dance *SPECIAL Fortnite Edition* by Message In MotionLittle Bennett ElementaryNewFortnite is a popular video game, but did you know there are more than *100* Fornite dances?! In this hip hop dance class we will not only be introducing hip hop dance basics and core technique including footwork, floorwork (breakdancing), popping and locking, and freezes, but the primary emphasis will be on fortnite dances and learning as many of them as we can throughout the session! Students will dance to the actual beats from the game that have made it popular, as well as some of the contemporary beats that it is closely associated with. Students will have a blast mastering their Fortnite dance skills and have fun dancing with their peers in this high energy class.Winter 2020

Musical Theatre Class by Message In MotionWilson Wims ElementaryNewStudents are introduced to the main components of musical theatre including voice, acting, basic music theory, and dance technique (typically musical theatre jazz/broadway style and/or hip hop.) Learn choreography, staging, and costuming basics. Use of props, role playing, and imagination to aid in personal expression and creativity. Students work together to learn mini musical routines from both classic Broadway shows like Cats & Annie to more contemporary productions and shows like Fresh Beat Band, High School Musical, Lion King, and more! Students will showcase what they have learned at an end of session in class parent presentation where they will present 1-2 learned mini musical routines, other material they have learned throughout the session, and be presented with a certificate!Winter 2020
