The Wilson Wims PTA is excited to offer an after school enrichment program for its students! We have three exciting sessions planned - Fall, Winter and Spring - with lots of great classes to choose from in each one. On this site you'll find all the information about program procedures, class descriptions and details you need to participate. Whether you are looking for sports, drama, arts and crafts, technology, science or hobbies, there's something here for everyone. SO go exploring and see what you want to learn!
Transition from school to enrichment programs:
The OSC will communicate with the school office to ensure that students are dismissed in a timely manner to their enrichment location. Students are dismissed from their school-day classroom directly to their enrichment location for all indoor enrichment programs. For outdoor enrichment programs, students will be dismissed to the hallway in front of the media center, where they will meet their instructor prior to going outdoors for their enrichment program.

Spring Enrichment Class Descriptions
Cooking Around the World - Tiny Chefs (K-5)
It is said that if you want to learn about a country you should start with the food. So during this class, our Tiny and Gourmet Chefs will learn how to create the cuisines of multiple countries. We will be cooking up some of the fabulous flavors of Italian, Indian, Vietnamese, Mexican & French foods and also learning about some of the cooking techniques & ingredients that make them unique. Come join us as we expand our world and our palates!
Chess - Silver Knights (K-5)
Experimentamania - Mad Science (K-5)
Experimentamania is a cornucopia of experiments! Children will uncover the vital role that science plays in detective work, examine the science behind popular toys and get a buzz out the amazing world of insects! Your Mad Scientists will explore earth science, weather phenomena, and experiment with some kitchen chemistry. Children will build their own Mad Science Machine, and create their very own short animated cartoon!
Soccer - Brit-AM Soccer Academy (K-5)
Brit-Am Soccer Academy's after school program is a community program that is in collaboration with the school PTA's and is aimed at providing K-8th grade boys and girls the opportunity to play conveniently at their school and in a safe and fun environment. The Brit-Am Soccer staff are professionally licensed and will teach players various techniques such as dribbling, shooting, ball control through fun activities, along with some of the basic rules of the game. The program can be provided at any Elementary School. Each player receives a t-shirt. (Inclement Weather: Outdoor classes will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. One makeup class date has been reserved should a class cancel and every effort will be made to make up a missed class. Refunds will not be issued for any classes cancelled due to inclement weather.)
Digital Animation: Art & Adventure (2-5)
In this unit, kids will create their own art, animations and adventures by using all of the Scratch 3 digital tools to make fractured fairy tales, choose-your-own adventure stories, and quiz games. Use the Silver Knights curriculum to learn how to code and then take it to the next level with art and animated add-ons, avatars and end credits. What’s your story?
Intro to STEM using Lego - Play-Well Teknologies (K-2)
Let your imagination run wild with tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Build engineer-designed projects such as: Trains, Helicopters, Treehouses, and Beam Bridges. Design and build as never before, and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment. Then use special pieces to create your own unique design! New and returning students can explore the endless creative possibilities of the LEGO® building system with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor. There are no prerequisites for this course and each season's session will feature unique projects, STEM concepts, and new adventures!
Drawing - Young Rembrandts (K-5)
It's Springtime and that can mean only one thing: SPRINGTIME DRAWING WITH YOUNG REMBRANDTS! If your children are baseball fans, they will love our baseball still life lesson. Learning about warm colors and cool colors will be the focus as our artists draw a detailed exterior of a house. Students will explore the intricate details of the breathtaking Taj Mahal. Finally, we’ll take an imaginary trip to some beautiful places to draw a cute flamingo as well as learn about the history and artistry of a kimono. Sign up for classes today!
Martial Arts & Fitness - Royal Tiger Academy (K-5)
Royal Tiger Academy, martial arts and fitness program is taught by Master Saykosy and Mrs. Saykosy with over 25 years of martial arts experience. He strives to help his student's build confidence, be more focused, gain mental and physical strength, achieve a better fitness level and become a respectful young child through martial arts training.
Beginner Spanish - Big Learning (K-2)
Both new and continuing students will learn Spanish together and build practical language skills in a lively, informal setting. Through games, songs and fun pair and group activities we'll practice expressions and vocabulary, count, describe, identify, ask and answer questions, compare, and more! Some favorite topics this session include farm animals, my family and time for breakfast - all en espagnol! Each child receives a Spring Session Beginner workbook to support the lesson themes and for exposure to early reading and writing skills in Spanish.
Zumba Kids - Hyun Park (K-5)
Dance fitness with simple & easy-to-follow choreography that will be broken down and taught to children. We will be dancing to age-appropriate pop music (e.g.- Kidz Bop, Disney movie soundtracks, Latin based music, etc.), playing games, and making simple crafts for variety. No dance experience needed.
Flag Football - Overtime Athletics Montgomery (K-5)
Huddle Up and get ready for Flag Football to become an instant classic. Kids are lining up to score touchdowns and get a taste of the most popular game in the country! Players will get a chance to be running backs, wide receivers, defensive ends, and corner backs. Learn to pass, catch, run routes and punt like the pros! We'll practice these skills while playing Button Hook, Down & Out, Pitch & Run and First & Ten. Scrimmages and Red Zone Challenges will test your skills, promote teamwork and encourage sportsmanship. Guitar Club - Fine Arts Matter (2-5)
It's time to rock with Guitar Club! Guitar Club gives students in 2nd grade and UP the chance to get their hands on a real guitar and play exciting music with their friends! Using our Three-year, Three-tier curriculum, students will learn songs ranging from fun classic rock to contemporary pop songs. Our experienced and encouraging teachers do a great job with both beginning and advanced students, so no experience is necessary to have fun in our class. Piano Club - Fine Arts Matter (K-3)
