Fencing For Young Jedi I - Nova Fencing Club - $145

Fencing for Young Jedi classes are conducted in the discipline of epee. We use standard fencing gear currently approved by and meets all safety requirements of US Fencing Organization. Although we use actual fencing foils to conduct our classes - foils are lighter, more flexible, and are easier for younger kids to handle - we teach the foundational skills in epee. Classes focus on introduction and reinforcements of the fundamentals of fencing including footwork, handwork, strategy and rules of fencing. Students will learn and reinforce various fencing movements and actions and will learn new actions and combinations. These one hour classes include group exercises as well as drills in pairs and bouting. Skills are reinforced with age-appropriate games and activities that build conditioning, speed and endurance while emphasizing critical thinking and quick decision-making. At the end of the session a tournament will be held at Nova Fencing Club using electric fencing equipment, followed by Glow-in-the-Dark fencing. Fencing for Young Jedi is appropriate for both beginning and continuing fencers.

Snack Attack - Tiny Chefs - $169

This session, students will push the limits on the snack concept and prepare a variety of wholesome, delicious, and unique nibbles. This is not your mother's PB&J! No one will go hungry this class!

Class time is split between lesson and play. Lessons range from learning the rules to advanced tournament strategies, depending on the student's skill level. Play time is structured to pair each student against an opponent of similar skill. All grades and skill levels are welcome. Silver Knights will supply all the equipment during chess club. Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments.

Parkour - Urban Evolution - $182

Parkour is a training methodology which focuses on movement in both natural and urban environments. The focus is to move over, under, around, and through obstacles elegantly, and with efficiency.

It’s not strictly defined by any particular workout or conditioning regimen. It’s more about finding the way to keep improving and eventually reach your greatest physical potential. And that’s what makes it so great! Your only opponent here is yourself. Your competition is you!

So it does have its philosophical side, but here at Urban Evolution, we’ve come up a variety of ways to challenge you and hone your skills in a safe and fun environment. This includes some useful body-weight conditioning exercises, jumping and landing with precision, developing safe rolling habits, and numerous techniques for vaulting over obstacles
