The Piney Branch PTO is excited to offer an after school enrichment program for its students! We have two exciting sessions planned - Fall and Winter - with lots of great classes to choose from in each one. On this site you'll find all the information about program procedures, class descriptions and details you need to participate. Whether you are looking for sports, drama, arts and crafts, technology, science or hobbies, there's something here for everyone. Transition from school to enrichment programs:

All students participating in enrichment classes will be dismissed directly to their enrichment class locations after bus students have been dismissed. Instructors must be at the class location ready to meet students by 3:50pm. Students enrolled in SACC will check-in at that program first, and then go to the enrichment class location.

Beginner Ensemble (Piano, Guitar, Violin & Drum) - Learn Now Music

Students will participate in an beginner ensemble music group. Students may choose which instrument to play during the session – piano, guitar, violin or drums. Students will learn about the instrument, how to read musical notation as well as how to participate in a group. Students are provided with FREE instrument rentals to TAKE HOME with them for the entire session! Parents will be invited to a “Parent Day” on the last day of class. Rental Instruments must be returned at the last class.

Game Design: Arcade Action! - Silver Knight's Enrichment

Design your own arcade-style games in this fun club. Using Scratch 3 digital tools, create your own racing games, chase games and classic arcade games like pong, tank, and snake! Use the Silver Knights curriculum to learn how to code and then take your game to the next level with avatars, scores, health points, intros and outros! Game on!

Minute It to Win It Science Games - STEAM Kidz Lab

Challenge your mind and body in this class full of nonstop action with races, games and mind-bending puzzles! We'll explore volcanoes, earthquakes, gases, rocks, minerals and lots more. There is a game for every science concept, and a science concept for every game, so why not play while you learn? Educational value: creative thinking, problem solving, teamwork, chemistry, physics, life science and engineering.

Cheers to You - Message in Motion

Cheers to You is a fun recreational cheerleading class. We learn basic cheerleading arm motions, jumps, and dance routines set to music. Class fee includes Cheer T-shirt, matching hair bow, & award show! Our goal is to get active, include all students, and have school team spirit!

Cooking Classes by iCook, iCook After School

iCook is a really fun, hands-on after-school cooking program for children. Our mission is simple: to help teach children to love everything about food, cooking, eating delicious and healthful dishes, learning about different cultures and stories behind the food. Our chefs-in-training will learn how to make a variety of healthy, delicious and fun seasonal recipes. We will learn about herbs, spices and how they add flavor and aroma to the dishes. Our little chefs will "travel" to new countries and learn about their cuisines and cultures. We will master cooking safety, slicing, dicing, chopping, folding, baking, zesting, mixing and more.

Martial Arts, Kwon's Champion School

Kwon's Champion Martial Arts School is the longest running martial arts school in Gainesville, VA. They are well known not only for teaching great martial arts but also teaching students to gain better focus, discipline, respect for others, and learning how to listen better to their parents and teachers. Kwon's Champion School has been the leader in teaching and formulating great character development. In this exciting beginners' level program, students will learn the best techniques from Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing, Karate, Hapkido, Kung Fu, Judo, and Jiu Jitsu. Students are bound to have a great time but most importantly, they will learn a great amount of discipline.

Pottery Class, Mudskippers Pottery

Let Mudskippers Pottery bring the mud to your school! We are a family run professional studio that specializes in PTA sponsored after school ceramics education. Our instructors will expand students' knowledge and creativity. Each project is grounded in an historical artwork, submersing students in history and culture. Students will hone their fine motor skills through hand building and glazing pottery while expressing their unique personal vision. The 3D medium will teach them to use problem solving skills to address form and structure. Mudskippers Pottery will bring their convenient mobile studio to your school with all the advantages of a professional studio.

Robotics Club - STEM exCEL

STEM exCEL Robotics is designed for students looking to get started with robotics, and who are possibly interested in learning competitive robotics. In this course, students learn how to design, build, and program Lego Mindstorms EV3 robots by constructing and programming a robot. By applying engineering concepts as well as advanced sensor programming skills, students will perfect their design and programming to solve a variety of challenges. These engineering, design and programming concepts serve as a great stepping stone for students that have an interest in competing in robotics competitions such as First Lego League (FLL).
