About Dominion Trail Elementary

The Dominion Trail PTA is excited to offer an after school enrichment program for its students! We have three exciting sessions planned - Fall, Winter and Spring - with lots of great classes to choose from in each one. On this site you'll find all the information about program procedures, class descriptions and details you need to participate. Whether you are looking for sports, drama, arts and crafts, technology, science or hobbies, there's something here for everyone. Transition from school to enrichment programs:

Students will be dismissed to the Gym where enrichment Instructors will pick-up their class participants at 2:45 pm. Instructors must be in the gym no later than 2:45 pm where they will manually take attendance and then escort students to their assigned location. Instructors are required to bring paper rosters to each class.

Fall 2019 Classes will meet from 9/30 - 12/6 with Make Up Dates (if needed) 12/9 - 12/13

Boys' Running Club, Dominion Trail PTA - $118

This running club is for any boy in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade that is interested in getting fit while playing games and having fun! We will meet once a week and will culminate in running a 5k. Each week, we will focus on a guiding principle or characteristic that is vital to being a confident runner and important for leading a healthy lifestyle.

KidzArt, KidzArt - $142

Whether your child is a budding Michelangelo or is still drawing stick figures, KidzArt will give them the skills and confidence to create artwork they are proud of. The KidzArt method of drawing instruction allows your child to learn many artist tricks and develop their own creativity. KidzArt is an extraordinary drawing program that introduces children to concepts such as proportion, perspective, dimension and shading. Starting with a blank canvas, the students will create a masterpiece to take home after every class. They learn to focus and break down complex drawings into individual components. You will be amazed at what your child comes home with each week! The young artists are exposed to a wide variety of mediums which may include oil and chalk pastels, watercolors, charcoal, vibrant markers, and clay. New curriculum in every session. KidzArt builds self-confidence, problem-solving skills and creativity in a fun non-competitive atmosphere. Artist quality supplies included.

Spy Training, Curiosity Zone of Ashburn - $150

In our forensic science program, kids learn to be secret spies! We will dust for fingerprints, build booby traps, create disguises, write secret codes, see around corners, listen through walls, discover evidence and lots more!
Educational value: creative thinking, problem solving, teamwork, chemistry, physics, life science, engineering and forensics.

Drama Kids - Elementary School Class, Drama Kids - $212

Drama Kids offers an exciting program for kids in Grades K-5. Our enriching and time-tested curriculum is designed not only to teach acting skills, but also to build student confidence, encourage teamwork, and bolster public speaking skills. Drama Kids highly trained teachers motivate and inspire the students to become articulate communicators through enthusiastic participation in a wide range of creative activities including speech, creative movement, and improvisation. It can run for as little as 6 weeks or the entire school year. If we run for the full school year, in the fall, we teach individual lessons each week focusing on skills like projection, articulation, improvisation, characterization, and stage presence. In the spring, we put all of the skills we've learned to use as we start our spring play! The kids are given scripts and roles and spend the spring classes rehearsing for their performance. The program culminates in May with a full performance of the play, complete with costumes, sets, and an audience of family and friends. Space is limited for the class. FUNdamentals of Basketball, Dominion Trail PTA - $118

We will spend the first half of class working on basic fundamentals and the second half playing different basketball games including 1 on 1, 3 on 3, and 5 on 5. This class will be taught by former college player and Seton Hill University Hall of Fame Inductee Gina Lindenfeldar. She brings 10+ years of basketball coaching experience. Chess, Silver Knights Enrichment - $122

Learn chess from a Silver Knights chess coach! State and national champions have come from our programs, but most of our students are just looking to have fun! Class time is split between lesson and play. Lessons range from learning the rules to advanced tournament strategies, depending on the student's skill level. Play time is structured to pair each student against an opponent of similar skill. All grades and skill levels are welcome. Silver Knights will supply all the equipment during chess club. Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments.

Dance Fitness, Dominion Trail PTA - $118

Come join us for a fun, creative dance fitness experience! We will learn and practice simple routines to get in that all-important physical activity in a really fun way!

Kickball, Dominion Trail PTA - $118

Time to have some fun and enjoy this amazing sport that is a cross between baseball and soccer. Each child will learn the fundamentals of kickball such as the rules and each position on the field. There will be running, kicking, catching, and throwing involved in the fun filled experience that will give your child the chance to learn the game and gain new friends. There is no equipment needed, just bring a smile and a good attitude, and see you out on the field!

Jedi Master Engineering using LEGO® Materials, Play-Well TEKnologies - $189

The Force Awakens in this advanced engineering course for young Jedi! Discover key engineering concepts such as gear trains, worm drives, pneumatics, and eccentric motion. Build LEGO X-Wings, AT-AT walkers, Pod Racers, Star Destroyers, Cloud Cities, Settlements, Fortresses, and other complex machines and structures from a galaxy far, far away.

No-Bake Cooking Class, Dominion Trail PTA - $172

A fun class to create kid-friendly no-bake treats! This class is for students of all ages who want to help out with cooking at home. We will make all different snacks, appetizers, lunches and desserts! We will be allergy aware and work around any specific food sensitivities that your child may have.

USTA Youth Tennis, USTA/Mid-Atlantic Loudoun - $181

The United States Tennis Association Mid-Atlantic Section (USTA MAS) proudly presents TGA Premier Youth Tennis, the first and only national tennis enrichment program in the country. Students will develop tennis skills utilizing kid-friendly equipment in a play-to-learn style that gets them rallying and having fun right away. In addition, students will learn relevant character development and STEM skills such as sportsmanship, respect, math, science, technology, and more. Elementary school programs include a five-level progression system. All first time students receive a wristband, a hat, and a student handbook. Program is taught by USTA-trained and background-screened coaches utilizing the most current teaching methodology. All tennis equipment is provided (e.g. racquets, balls, pop up nets).

Pottery Class, Mudskippers Pottery - $204

Let Mudskippers Pottery bring the mud to your school! We are a family run professional studio that specializes in PTA sponsored after school ceramics education. Our instructors will expand students' knowledge and creativity. Each project is grounded in an historical artwork, submersing students in history and culture.
