The London Towne PTA is excited to offer an after school enrichment program for its students! We have two exciting sessions planned - Fall and Spring - with lots of great classes to choose from in each one. Whether you are looking for sports, drama, arts and crafts, technology, science or hobbies, there's something here for everyone. Transition from school to enrichment programs:
Children K-6th will be dismissed to the cafeteria, unescorted. Instructors will meet students in the cafeteria and escort them to their class location.
STEM exCEL Robotics - STEM exCEL - $143
STEM exCEL Robotics is designed for students looking to get started with robotics, and who are possibly interested in learning competitive robotics. In this course, students learn how to design, build, and program Lego Mindstorms EV3 robots by constructing and programming a robot. By applying engineering concepts as well as advanced sensor programming skills, students will perfect their design and programming to solve a variety of challenges. These engineering, design and programming concepts serve as a great stepping stone for students that have an interest in competing in robotics competitions such as First Lego League (FLL).
Take the Stage!- Acting for Young People- $104
Grades K-2/younger grade range: Students will learn the fundamentals of acting, build confidence, and use critical thinking and teamwork as they develop their actor's toolbox through theater games and acting exercises. They will apply these skills to an ensemble performance piece presented on the last day of class. Great for new and returning students with any level of experience.
Grades 3-6/mid-older grade range: Students will use their own unique qualities as they learn to act, using theater games, improvisation, storytelling, and text. Through individual and group activities young actors will build their actor's toolbox, gain confidence, and each will make a significant contribution to the final presentation held on the last day of class. Great for new or returning students with any level of experience.
Hip Hop Dance - Kids in Motion - $121
Offered by Kids in Motion, Hip Hop Dance is a high energy, exciting dance class specifically designed for children. Classes are set up with kid friendly music, movements, and routines. Hip Hop Dance is a great fit for children and it creates an environment of excitement around being healthy and active! Dance instructors are certified Zumba Kids instructors through Zumba International, which certifies them to teach 4-12 year old children, or they are experienced Hip Hop instructors. All instructors receive further training through Kids in Motion lead dance instructors
Chess Club - Silver Knights Enrichment - $125
Learn chess from a Silver Knights chess coach! State and national champions have come from our programs, but most of our students are just looking to have fun! Class time is split between lesson and play. Lessons range from learning the rules to advanced tournament strategies, depending on the student's skill level. Play time is structured to pair each student against an opponent of similar skill. All grades and skill levels are welcome. Silver Knights will supply all the equipment during chess club. Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments.
LEGO Engineering Challenges: Build, Tilt, and Bend - Starbright Enrichment/Ascendly - $154
This course combines creativity with thinking critically about a daily building challenge. Each lesson is a fun exercise that lets kids be creative and artistic yet disciplined and refined in their thinking, all while molding and reinforcing the Engineering Design process. This isnât about structures, nor LEGO bricks, itâs about a way of thinking. Each lesson teaches critical thinking, brainstorming, planning, testing, and refining. Start designing and building your own creations, implementing the Engineering Design Process.
What do the classes look like?
A specific engineering challenge with LEGO presented at each class â imagine making a car from just square bricks!

Science Wizards - The Science Place - $128
Science can be quite magical! Use chemistry to make potions that change color and orbs that glow in the dark. Stand inside a giant bubble and learn the physics that make it possible. Use the powers of electricity and magnetism to make objects levitate. Capture a rainbow in a test tube and take it home!
As members of The Science Place research team, students receive junior scientist wristbands. When they successfully complete their science mission each week, they earn an insignia to add to their wristband. By the end of their session, they have a visual record of the science knowledge that theyâve gained on their expedition.
