About Silverbrook Elementary

Silverbrook Elementary is excited to offer an after school enrichment program for its students! We have three exciting sessions planned - Fall, Winter and Spring- with lots of great classes to choose from in each one. On this site you'll find all the information about program procedures, class descriptions and details you need to participate. Whether you are looking for sports, drama, arts and crafts, technology, science or hobbies, there's something here for everyone. Transition from school to enrichment program:

Children 1st-6th will be dismissed to your assigned room, unescorted. The Parent Volunteer will pick up all the kindergarten, as well as ASE students, from Extended Day and escort them to their class location. Quick attendance for all bus students is appreciated in order to catch club students before the buses depart the school. SACC student

Amusement Park Island - Challenge Island - $134

Challenge Island is a cooperative learning experience. Children divide into color coded tribes and take on challenges as unified teams (of course individual contributions and accomplishments are also encouraged and recognized!). Tribal spirit and sportsmanship are at the core of the Challenge Island experience and the art of working together is reinforced at our "Tribal Councils".
Kids get to dream up and create their own working amusement park at this awesome Challenge Island camp. Roller coasters, ziplines, and real flying rockets are just a few of the rad rides they'll design using basic household and recycled materials. Your students creativity is the limit on CI's Amusement Park Island.

Game Design: Arcade Action - Silver Knights Enrichment - $181

Design your own arcade-style games in this fun club. Using Scratch 3 digital tools, create your own racing games, chase games and classic arcade games like pong, tank, and snake! Use the Silver Knights curriculum to learn how to code and then take your game to the next level with avatars, scores, health points, intros and outros! Game on!

Take the Stage - Acting for Young People - $93

Grades K-2/younger grade range: Students will learn the fundamentals of acting, build confidence, and use critical thinking and teamwork as they develop their actor's toolbox through theater games and acting exercises. They will apply these skills to an ensemble performance piece presented on the last day of class. Great for new and returning students with any level of experience.
Grades 3-6/mid-older grade range: Students will use their own unique qualities as they learn to act, using theater games, improvisation, storytelling, and text. Through individual and group activities young actors will build their actor's toolbox, gain confidence, and each will make a significant contribution to the final presentation held on the last day of class. Great for new or returning students with any level of experience.

Basketball Academy - Love the Ball Sports - $122

The Love the Ball basketball academy will take your game to the next level. All players will have a basketball at all times which will drastically improve their fundamentals while we play games like king of the court, knockout and farmers and foxes. Advanced skills will also be taught like free throw shooting, crossovers and much more.

Animation Maker - Coding with Kids - $176

Enter the world of movie and game animations! Students will learn the core skills of creating simple animated movies, creating 2D and 3D characters and animating those. Take your learning beyond stop-motion animation with real animation design tools. You will get to create real computer graphics and build animations like the pros!

Breakfast for Dinner - Tiny Chefs - $234

Turn your favorite breakfast dishes into the main event as dinner options. How about a cheddar-chive frittata with fresh salsa? Or Brunch pasta with bacon and eggs? Maybe you'd prefer a more traditional French toast, dressed up with bananas and blueberries? Any way you slice it your little chef will love tucking into these comforting breakfast classics.

LEGO Jr. Structural Engineering - Play-Well TEKnologies - $150

In additional to teaching the core structural engineering concepts, this focuses upon the different buildings and structure and the engineering behind them and what that means to the students. Exercises include making skyscrapers, bridges, and castles, and more. Students will test their creations to ensure the meet our engineering standards, which might include castle strength, skyscraper stability, or bridge sturdiness.
This courses transitions kids from simply following instructions to becoming problem formulators and problem solvers.
The courses teaches engineering vocabulary, and construction skills.
Exercises reinforce all aspects the Engineering Design Process, such as problem definition, planning, testing, and refining solutions.
Students learn core structural engineering, asking the right questions, how to build from simple blueprints, building to scale, to testing and refining.
The course also encourages students to design their own use-cases that tell how their creation solves a problem and to then present those stories to the class.
Each student uses their own kit. 

Hip Hop - Kids in Motion - $136

Offered by Kids in Motion, Hip Hop Dance is a high energy, exciting dance class specifically designed for children. Classes are set up with kid friendly music, movements, and routines. Hip Hop Dance is a great fit for children and it creates an environment of excitement around being healthy and active! Dance instructors are certified Zumba Kids instructors through Zumba International, which certifies them to teach 4-12 year old children, or they are experienced Hip Hop instructors. All instructors receive further training through Kids in Motion lead dance instructors.
